Hello,
We want to run ~20PCs with the antivirus. While we can use demo, we want to try the product in all cases.
Can updates be downloaded from local server(with samba, proxy, if needed - http)? Before, avast32 had a posibility to update from desired network folder with .tmd files. But now i can not find such option in the program. Is there now another way to specify an update folder, or its only done with iAVS updater and only from internet?

Thanks for responds.

If you put the update file into a shared folder in the network, I think you could update avast! from there.

Download the update file here: http://files.avast.com/iavs4pro/vpsupd.exe

Hope this helps. Wellcome to forums.

Btw, I suppose you will only use the Home version is you are in Home/Non-commercial network… Otherwise, you can: buy avast! Pro or, better, try the Network version of avast.

Or, be sure, we are going to buy this product, because it will be used in commercial area.

With vpsupd.exe its not what i want. Because not all PCs in our network is joined to domain, so I will have to write for this PCs a schedule script for launching it and what if it stops or will be removed? Its not very reliable way.

What about network edition You mentioned, where I can read about it?

Other way - I can download updates from one of Avast’s servers, change my local DNSes, and Avast! pro will take it from my local http server.

But only in need to know, what files i have to download from Avast’s server.

So maybe there is better ways of local updates?

Karolis
