How to use a licence.dat file ???

Hi

Just bought the pro version, but it send me a license.dat file ??

How to use that - in Avast, the program requires a avastlic file ???

Hi giweo, welcome to the forum

According to igor (a developer) you should be able to use it…just change the option to ‘All Files’

No - license.dat is not a valid avast license file

That is the error you receive?

I suggest that you contact sales(at)avast.com detailing your problem, and they should be better suited to help you.

What’s the exact version of the program and virus definitions you currently have?
Please compress the license file to ZIP and upload it to

ftp://ftp.avast.com/incomning

Already send them an email, just thought u was faster S

File uploadet - just bought it, and downloaded the newest program til avast.com

Is it a .bat or a .dat file? Because you wrote .bat in your first post.

license.dat

Wait a second… this is all you got? Just two lines, file size 196 bytes?
That’s certainly not complete - there should be a lot of text before (including your name, expiration dates, etc.), the whole thing about 2KB in size.

What is your e-mail client (or e-mail provider, if you use some web mail)?
This was delivered in an attachment?

igor, I wonder if something is up with the email system?

As you know, the other thread…

Yes Igor, that all :frowning:

I use Outlook 2000 - byt just tryed webmail - same size file

Would you please be able to export the received e-mail from Outlook as an EML file and upload it to the same place?
I’d like to check if the structure is somehow strange / corrupted, or if this is really all inside.
Thanks.

Not able to

I have uploadet a giweo.zip - with the direct download link to my license file

And a giweo.pdf with the e-mail

OK, thanks.

Able to help, Igor ?

Not right now… I’m afraid this is not really my area of expertise.
But I’ll pass the problem to the responsible ones and I’m sure you’ll get a new license file soon.

just got a correct file by e-mail from Avast support
