How to use a program avast thinks is harmful?

I found the program Snadboy’s Revelation very useful at times. However now Avast thinks it is harmful and impedes me from using it.
Is there a way to circumvent this?

What is the avast message?
If you want to bypass it, use the Exclusion Lists:

For the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning):
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize.
Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button…

For the other providers (on-demmand scanning):
Right click the ‘a’ blue icon, click Program Settings.
Go to Exclusions tab and click on Add button…

You can use wildcards like * and ?.
But be carefull, you should ‘exclude’ that many files that let your system in danger.

It could be that the key logger or password capture element of could be what is kicking up in avast. There are a number of google hits that are from AV detection related to Snadboy’s Revelation. Like anything a tool can be for good or evil and since you didn’t say what the malware name was, might it not have had the [Tool] suffix to the malware name ?

Thanks Tech. Is there a Help for Avast? I cant´t find one. I know of no instructions how to use it. That’s why I asked.

DavidR: I tried other AVs andthe majority do not accuse as virus/trojan. Some say hacker tool.

There is the help file. Start avast and click F1.
