how to use avast wif windows live messenger?

i know Avast have a instant messaging shield but how do i configure it to work wif windows live messenger?because it is very annoying evrytime i receive a file and wlm tell me tht thr is no anti virus scanner configured for it.

Have you entered the avast scanner location into WLM, I guess that is what it is after ?
Assuming that you installed avast! in the default folder, this is the path needed to scan downloads, C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\ashQuick.exe

I say I guess because I don’t use WLM.

Enter the information DavidR provided in the File Transfer panel of WLM > Options and check the “Virus scan box”.

I think MS expect you to use their crap software (Onecare isnt it), for Messenger.
