How's Sunbelt's VIPRE ?

“VIPRE Antivirus + Antispyware is high-performance security software that doesn’t slow down your PC like older, traditional antivirus products.”

“Tired of old antivirus software that makes your PC slow down to a crawl? Interrupting what you are doing with slow scan times, causing problems and nagging you? Time for a change to next-generation antivirus + antispyware that IS NOT a resource hog!”

“Does not slow down your PC”

Guys, what do you think? How does avast! compare? If there is a difference … Can the developers take some things from the program and adapt it to their own suiting?

What do you guys think?

Well, VIPRE probably is not bad, but Avast! is and will always be better ;D

Especially Avast! 5 will beat them all!!!

already posted it here…but no thanks-sticking with the best-avast!

(But better in General)

For general interest…

Comparison of time taken to run ‘OpenOffice.org Writer 2.3’ from fresh boot with various AV.
Slow PC (SIS630, PIII 733mhz, 256MB RAM) so as to clearly see differences.
All AV at default settings.

VIPRE, 62 seconds
AVG 8.0 Pro 44 seconds
Avast! Home 4.8.1229, 36 seconds
NO AV installed, 24 seconds

VIPRE seems to be a good thing… but it’s not “magic”.
