Hi there, Ive just tried following the instructions for XP in Vista, but it doesnt work. Anyone got up to date instructions on how to do it in Vista?
Those instructions are still as far as I’m aware are still relevant the only possible difference I would have thought is how to set the scheduled task to run with elevated privileges.
You don’t say why it doesn’t work so people can’t say what might be the problem.
Unfortunately I don’t use Vista.
Well not so unfortunate really I’m avoiding it.
Personally I don’t feel the need to automate the process, I prefer to do a manual on-demand scan as a part of my weekly system maintenance.
MadGamer; I’m lost… do you want to do automatic scans with the home (free) version, right now, I’m not using home version on my computer, but, in order to schedule tasks, you need the enhanced user interface, and that feature is only available on pro version…

Sergio, like many things in life there are work arounds and what this entails is using Windows Scheduled Tasks, you can run ashQuick.exe to scan your system, crude but possible - HOWTO: Scheduled Automatic Scans avast! Home Version!
So it is nowhere near as flexible as that of the Pro Version and isn’t really what ashQuick.exe was designed to do.
