Howto stop the auto e-mail updates?

Hi all,

I have stopped using Avast (because of

but I still get those ‘push’ update e-mails saying the program is updated.

How do I stop these… after I uninstalled Avast…

[EDIT] I tried the SEARCH but I could not find anything…

In the Pro version, I think that you have to enter your email address somewher on the avast website in order to get the push updates and email confirmation. Can you not delete the email address or but it in a trash mail box.

[b]Push iAVS[/b]. It is a special kind of update. Sometimes, it might be very important to perform the update as soon as possible (e.g. when a new virus starts to spread heavily). With push iAVS, it is possible to start the update remotely, on the request of ALWIL Software specialists. The request is done by a special e-mail message. avast!, checking the incoming e-mails, will recognize the message and automatically start the update.

Enable. Enables the push iAVS function

Add information about performed action into e-mail. If you select this option, avast! will add a note to the message saying if and how the update was performed.

Registration. The push iAVS service (Professional version only) must be activated by registration. After clicking on the link, an on-line form will open in your browser; here, it is necessary to enter the e-mail address that messages to start iAVS will be sent to.

He was using the Pro version, it is the only way you can get push updates. His original problem was not being able to apply silent mode to the Outlook provider. That’s why he un-installed it, but the push update emails kept coming.

The Trial version I suppose ::slight_smile:

OF course, the Outlook provider in the Pro version supports silent actions from the very beginning. Just change the action chain on the Exchange/Outlook’s Virus page in the Resident Task settings…
