With a new install of windows, it’s going to take awhile to sort through all the files.
Follow up on psw’s suggestion and block the ip in your firewall.
ok how can i block this ip in my firewall? ???
What firewall are you using?
If you are using windows firewall, please note that it doesn’t provide outbound protection. A third party firewall will.
A discussion on free firewalls can be found here.

Please download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware from Here or Here
Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
[*]Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
[*]If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
[*]Once the program has loaded, select “Perform Quick Scan”, then click Scan.
[*]The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
[*]When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
[*]Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
[]When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.(See Extra Note)
[]The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
[*]Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.
Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.
Hi everyone,
I have EXACTLY the same problem and got thru via a search.
psw, you kinda seem to be on the right foot here - which firewall would you recommend? (windows firewall has always been turned on but i learnt about 3rd party firewall to block an IP only thru this thread)
Also I would like to ask the experts: In my case, it showed me those same messages [http: // u.asdafdgfgf.com/ads.js (added spaces - do not click!) and html:malware] as soon as I inserted a friend’s external USB hard drive (internet connection is always on in my computer). I chose ‘Delete file’ and 3 days since then i have continued using my internet connection and external hard disk and the problem seems to have gone away. Some googling reveals this malware is quite serious. My question is, is this infection specific to the hard disk drive (so that I should not use it on another computer), or something only in my computer now?
Thanks again
Comodo or PCTools both work on XP and Vista and are free.
To be sure, I suggest:
- Disable System Restore and reenable it after step 3.
- Clean your temporary files.
- Schedule a boot time scanning with avast with archive scanning turned on.
- Use SUPERantispyware and/or Spyware Terminator to scan for spywares and trojans. If any infection is detected, better and safer is send the file to Quarantine than to simple delete than.
- Test your machine with anti-rootkit applications. I suggest avast! antirootkit or Trend Micro RootkitBuster.
- Make a HijackThis log to post here or, better, submit the RunScanner log to to on-line analysis.
- Immunize your system with SpywareBlaster or Windows Advanced Care.
- Check if you have insecure applications with Secunia Software Inspector.
Please Modify your post, breaking the direct link to malware (like I have done in the quoted text above), this will avoid accidental exposure to forum members.
avast isn’t the only scanner to find malware at the above link, DrWeb link checker also detects malware, see image.
ok, found good info on this.

Scary stuff, even a format will not fix it, ISP needs to be notified. Any easier solutions?
Hi crazy, that was an interesting read. What I understand, it’s not your computer that’s infected, but one on your network. The biggest problem would be how to find the infected computer.
Calypso, your problem would appear to be the same. DavidR already mentioned that the detections where coming from outside.
Calpypso, how are you coping?
Tech, i am running those checks, there are no viruses at all reported when i run the scan (avast, avast boot, spybot, adaware done so far) - but i kinda stopped on reading that page which indicates its a [serious] network infection.
Oldman, thanks for reading that page, as you are the expert (going by number of posts!), I have a question - so im having this problem only when i try to connect to the net. Avast is blocking the connection to the rogue website. The comp is becoming too slow and im having to reset it. When I restart and unplug the internet cable and run a scan, I’m fully clean. Does this confirm that Avast has prevented any possible damage? And say, i change my ISP to a non-infected ISP will it fix my problem?
Not really an expert, I just read alot.
As advised on that other thread, changing your isp may help, if it gets you off the network with the infected computer.
When you say avast is blocking access to the site, do you mean webshield?
not sure if its webshield… it shows a dialog box with an option to ‘Abort connection’
in fact there were perfect screenshots posted by calypso on page 1 which seem to be hosted at

Those are precisely what I see as well
Yep, that’s webshield. It’s blocking the file from entering your system. Since it doesn’t moniter out going traffic, this would confirm that the “attack” is coming from the internet, not your computer. So, it would seem your system is clean. The slowdown you are experiencing is possibly from so many attacks from outside. As the other thread indicated, finding the infected computer and removing it is the answer.
