Hello. I started getting popups from Avast around 30 mins ago and they haven’t stopped. Is it a consistent/continuous malware attack? I don’t know anything at all :-\ was hoping to get some help as to how I can get this virus/malware cleaned from my system.

1st Popup:

Infection: URL:Mal
Process: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msiexec.exe

2nd Popup:

URL: http://differentia.ru/diff.php
Infection: URL:Mal
Process: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\msiexec.exe

I scanned computer with avast (with found nothing), and then used Malvarebytes wihich found virus ( log attached) it delated it, but I still got those pop-ups.

aswMBR log is usually not needed ... you may try run it from safe mode

this malware family uses large files (up to 120MB) to make sample exchange difficult… this file size probably exceeds VirusTotal limit as well as limits of other virus scanning and exchange services… we would really appreciate to have the particular file responsible for the unwanted network traffic… can you go to C:\ProgramData and look for a file with ms[random characters].exe name? If there’s no such file, can you go to C:\Documents and Settings[Your user name]\Local settings\Temp and look for file with KB[random numbers].exe?

I’m not sure if i do everything right but i found nothing like what you asked.
There are just some KB[numbers] folders but they are empty and some KB[numbers].html and txt. files looking like mozilla and microsoft files.
Popups stop to show.

For some reason MBAM never deletes the file just the run key

Save this as fixlist.txt, in the same location as FRST.exe

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Remove tools

Download and run Delfix
Select the options as shown

I would recommend that you completely uninstall Java unless you need it to run an important software.
In that instance I would recommend that you disable Java in your browsers until you need it for that software and then enable it. (See How to diasble Java in your web browser and How to unplug Java from the browser)

If you do need to keep Java then download JavaRa
Run the programme and select Remove Java Runtime. Uninstall all versions of Java present
Once done then run it again and select Update Java runtime > Download and install Latest version
