Getting the following “Threat Blocked” message as of 11 PM, 21 Feb.

Object: https://clients1.google.com/tbproxy/af/query?client=Google%20Chrome|{gzip}

Infection: VBS:Malware-gen

Process: \Program Files(x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe

Warning repeats every 20 minutes.
The chrome executable is not quarantined or stopped, and no virus or malware appears to be attached to it.
nothing else is affected in an obvious way.
A direct visit to the object URL gets a 400 message.

Thinking chome is doing something that’s throwing the malware detector?
proxy settings are unchanged from before this issue began.

How can I stop this issue?

Same problem here. Started this morning during regular navigation in Amazon.UK.
Already tried to reinstall Chrome but didn’t help.
Pops at various sites visited.
Not sure whether a local/Avast/Google related problem or e real problem…

The same thing happens to me every 10 minutes since the last update of AVAST (Feb 22, 2016 at night) …

That is not the latest update.
There has been released a new VPS under 30 minutes ago and that is solving the problem.

same issue here. problem eventually went away today with latest definition update…
