HTTPS enforcement

I can find no internal setting in Secure Browser to enforce encryption. I have had to install the ForceHTTPS extension (HTTPS Everywhere is sadly no longer available).

You can’t force encryption where non exists. All you can do is prevent visiting sites that don’t use https.
I know that’s enforced in Chrome which is Chromium based same as the Avast Secure Browser.

Hi Bob. I can find the setting in Google Chrome but not in Edge Chrome or Secure Browser. I want this setting because I want to be prevented from accidentally connecting to a non-encrypted website. The HTTPForce extension does that. Shame that HTTPSEverywhere has slipped into the sunset.

Happy 63rd very soon.

You can always use Firefox
It has such settings in the Settings > Privacy and Security.
If a site doesn’t have an HTTPS function it will warn and you can if you accept the risk override the warning.

HTTPS Encryption is a feature of the Secure Browser, you can read it here https://support.avast.com/en-us/article/Secure-Browser-FAQ#pc

Thanks. It’s almost here.

You and Mrs Bob have a good day.

Thanks for drawing my attention to that information. I want to be made aware that a site is http in the event that there is no https alternative. That’s why I have installed the HTTPSForce extension.

There was a feature in Secure Browser similar to HTTPS Everywhere. Since Chromium started to force https by default we removed that feature. But we know about some corner cases that we would like to cover and improve this even more.

You can control this chromium feature via secure://flags/#https-upgrades

have a nice day

Select enable and then restart the browser when requested.
