After installing the latest update, using Avast Internet Security, my Windows 8 install BSODed with a Kernel secure message and when it rebooted, neither my laptop keyboard or my plugged in keyboard worked. I had to use the onscreen keyboard just to login. After attempting a system restore, it failed saying the antivirus is blocking the restore.
I uninstalled Avast, rebooted, and then my keyboard was working again without a system restore. Therefore, the problem definitely lies in Avast, and I’m sure I can not be the only one who will see this problem.
I have never had an issue with avast like this before, but this seems like a very serious problem.
