hulu.com/player.swf

Starting at 16:14 Eastern Time US I have been recieving a message saying hulu.com is a malicious site and is being blocked. I checked and it is the network shield blocking access. I know this is a safe site and was able to view it earlier today, so why is it being blocked?

I am not sure what info you need, but I am on Windows XP, avast version 4.8.1335 Feb 2009 build, virus database is up to date.

I’m getting the same thing. Running Avast pro Build 4.8.1335. Hulu.com has been no problem even as recently as this morning, but now its player.swf is identified as malicious? What’s the story here?

I am also being blocked from using the hulu player.

ALWIL,

Please fix this false positive.

Same problem under Vista.

This is what Network Shield reports:

11.03.2009 17:06:13 Network Shield: blocked access to malicious site www.hulu.com/player.swf [ C:\Program Files\Opera\opera.exe ( 1680 ) ]
11.03.2009 17:06:47 Network Shield: blocked access to malicious site www.hulu.com/player.swf [ C:\Program Files\Opera\opera.exe ( 1680 ) ]

There are three different threads about this hulu false positive!!! :o

Yeah, it’s almost like spamming about one problem. ::slight_smile:

Update the virus database to correct this false positive detection.

This has been fixed in VPS update 090311-1.
