VPN is stuck in the middle of a re-install. I had briefly uninstalled it last weekend and began the re-installation when I had no access to internet, forgetting that Avast probably needed to make a brief connection to complete the reinstall. VPN is unavailable and as you can see from the attachment, appears to be in the middle of installation but no activity and no Install/Uninstall buttons are accessible. Now with a solid Ethernet connection, I go to Settings\Components and the vertical scroll bar of the window acts like it has a spring on it that makes the slider pop right back up to the top without a chance to click on VPN. No matter the mechanism I try to scroll down, same results. I can overcome it by extending the display to a 2nd monitor below the 1st and extending the window to the full length but none of the commands are available . The way it acts makes me think I’ve picked up a virus or malware.
Is there another way to launch a reinstall of just VPN?
What about “reset to default settings” or should I uninstall the whole program and reinstall?
Thanks in advance.
Repair Avast:
- Control Panel → Add/Remove programs → Avast
- Click on ‘Repair’.
- Follow instructions.
- Reboot.
Ahh! Of course.
That worked perfectly. Thank you again.
You’re welcome.
