I have a a really quick questions about computer “services” in the computer and I was wondering if it possible to remove services that leftover from software that you installed. Even when you uninstall the software, clean remover tools, there is still leftover some components in the computer. My questions how do you remove it completely from the computer?
That’s not what I mean, what I mean is that i completed uninstall the software long times ago, but the “services” are still in the system and I was wondering how to remove completed from my computer
You need to disable the services (or the drivers loading) then directly removing (deleting) the registry keys.
Safer will be if you post screenshots of the services you’re excluding (and the name of the programs that the services belong to).
if your question is that an uninstaller has left over “unnecessary” services… which are running when you boot-up your computer… you can disable them:
from START, hit RUN, next to OPEN type in SERVICES.MSC, and hit OK.
the “Services Manager” should open.
Start-Up type is either AUTOMATIC (boots each time with your PC), MANUAL (doesn’t automatically boot, but will be allowed to run if some other program/service needs it), or DISABLED (won’t run).
click on any particular service you’re interested in. Some will give you a (semi-)detailed description of what they do. RIGHT-click on the service, and select PROPERTIES. On the GENERAL tab, you’ll have the option to set the start-up type to AUTO/MANUAL/DISABLED. Before changing anything, be sure to check the DEPENDANCIES tab:
the box “This service depends on ON…” tells you which other service(s) must be running, in order for this service to run.
the box “the following system components depend…” tells you which components/service won’t function, if you decide to disable this service.
Finally, be sure to hit the OK button to have your new settings accepted.
Again, let me stress that this will allow you to control which services are running, if that’s what your goal is. However, if your goal is literally to remove the (non-running) files from your drive, that’s another story.
BE VERY CAREFUL… I can assume no responsibility if you choose to disable an essential service, rendering your computer non-bootable.
Sometimes, McAfee won’t be completely removed if, before, you do not uninstall Avast, including the use of its “Uninstall Application” if necessary (www.avast.com/eng/faq-install-uninstall-avast.html).
Remove services in computer is very critical if you know which one you going to remove it. If not you can destroy the computer. I know that; that’s why i only post the one that i knew of.
