Advast alerted me to software updates I needed to get. Through the Advast program I clicked on the Java update now button and it took me to a download site. I clicked on the blue button which was the free update. (I don’t pay for java so assumed it was the right choice) What I got was downloaded a bunch of crap. One was Malware which Advast refused…(good for you) but now I have a program on my computer I can’t delete. The program is called Otshot. I tried to delete it through Windows and it said it deleted it but upon reboot it has become part of my start-up sequence.
This really bothers me because you are suppose to protect me from crap like this not actually send me to them!! This will be the last time I trust your system in this regard. If you are going to provide a service like this the program should be taking us directly to the company page and not some sleezy download site.
