I installed avast 4.5 and I can’t access to update virus base.
I don’t remember error message but it talk about kernel32 ?
Could you tell me how to do ?
Have you tried to repair your avast instalation? What the error mesage says? try to look on the Log Viewer. ???
Also tell us what OS you are using and if there are any other problems with your system.

There are other problems indeed, when avast scanned my PC it isolated kernel32, comman.com and i don’t remember the third. But I read on forum that was not important. Isn’t it ?

Have you typed the comman.com correctly as it doesn’t seem to be a system file?
kernel32, is that a .exe or .dll file type?
Even if they were valid filenames it doesn’t automatically mean that they are ok, the location of the file is helpful in identifying validity.

example (C:\windows\system32\infected-filename.xxx)?
OS is Me.
The exact name is command.com and kernel32.dll
In fact in these files avast didn’t find virus.
But in C/…/RESTORE it found Netsky-P. In all files with .CPY extension.

These would appear to be in the system restore points, when a file is deleted from windows system folders, system restore in its wisdom saves a copy in a restore point, just in case you really didn’t mean it. These are however still recognised and reported by the AV.
System Restore plays havoc with many AVs and trying to get rid of viruses/malware that puts files in the windows system folders.
The solution is to disable system restore, reboot scan your system and if clean, enable system restore.

When I try to connect to internet for Virus Base Update, the error message is :
“Avast provoked an error in KENREL32. DLL.
The Avast program is going to be now arrested.”

In more I got VPS udpate and I try to install it, and a error message appears :
“Can’t Install VPS Update, report following error codes :
Ver : 4.5.549
SI : 0x00000005
ST : 0xFFFFFFFF
LE : 0x00000000”
How can I intall a Virus Base Updated ??
Make sure your browser is not set to “Work Offline” (this option is generally in the File menu). If it doesn’t help, try switching the proxy settings from “Auto-detect” to “No proxy” (I’m assuming you’re not connecting to the Internet via proxy).
Left click the avast icon > Settings
Update (Basic) > Details > Proxy
And make sure it is not your firewall that is blocking it.
