I have recently started using opera vpn. The only problem is when avast is enabled the vpn just always says connecting and i cant get online. Does anyone have any idea what feature of avast is doing this, or a guide to what I need to do to be able to use opera vpn with avast on? thanks

im hearing pretty bad reviews about the beta, mainly the issue with pop ups taking up the whole page. so il probably hold out until then. i think id get more anoyed at the pop ups than i do disabling the shields.

Popups aren’t taking up the whole screen - they are different - but they are larger and centre screen rather than the usual toaster popup we are used to.

I don’t like them (in your face centre screen popups) either.

Temporarily disable Avast Shields.
Start Opera and wait till VPN connected
Re-enable all Avast Shields
Good to go

Or as has been explained in other threads, simply set a exclusion for the Opera VPN.
