I cannot enable my web shield!!

I disabled my web shield for 10 minutes because I noticed that sometimes my Firefox and other browsers could not browse any pages, even if they were safe such as Google.com

This only happens when I was like 10 minutes into browsing the web from a certain time period. For example I just got on the computer and opened Firefox and was browsing the net, then all of the sudden I could not browse the web anymore.

I disabled my web shield than I could browse the net using Chrome and Firefox. But I decided to enable my web shield again just to see what would happen and I cannot enable it! What happened??

Hmm. Are you saying I should reinstall? You think there was a problem in my installation?

I have reinstalled (removed and installed) Avast latest version again, and the web shield is working fine.

It seems to have fixed the problem for the web shield. Hopefully there will not be any more problems!
