I CANNOT UNINSTALL MY FREE AVAST ANTI-VIRUS (program is corrupt)

I cannot UNINSTALL my FREE AVAST Anti-Virus.
The program has been CORRUPTED.
I have Windows 7 (64 bit) OS .
“Add-Remove” will not work.
Also…Avast will not allow me to download the UNINSTALL UTILITY ‘aswclear.exe’ .
PLEASE HELP !!

if so......download on another computer and move over with a usb stick

what antivirus did you use before avast?
was your computer delivered with a preinstalled antivirus when new?
did you uninstall it before installing avast?

Avast FREE Anti-Virus is the only software I have been using.
“Add-Remove” will not remove it.
Avast will not let me download the UNINSTALLER FILE ’ aswclear.exe '…even I disabled the self protection .
I have Windows 7 (64 bit) OS.
Is there another way to go in and MANUALLY REMOVE Avast ??

Hi,

  1. BOOT THE COMPUTER IN SAFE MODE ONLY BY TAPPING F8 ON STARTING THE COMPUTER.
    TRY UNINSTALING AVAST FROM ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS WITHIN SAFE MODE.

Min processes are running in this mode. Any other traces of previous antviruses need to be removed. Ie NORTONS/SYMANTECS / AVG’S/ MACAFEES ETC. Need to use their removal tools!.

  1. Download malware bytes free and do antispyware check./ and remove what it finds and report again.
