I can't complete the download somebody please help asap!:)

I’m unable to download because of this issue. It won’t let me download in the box it keeps saying connection terminated. . . then it kicks it out and says retrying which it never does! I had norton on here and deleted it well, uninstalled it. Do I need to do something else to get avast on my computer asap? Please help!:slight_smile: thanks

Download the full setup and not the online (small) one from CNET.

But before,

  1. Remove NAV or Norton 360 through Add/Remove programs from Control Panel. Boot.
  2. Use Norton Removal Tool for Windows 2000/XP/Vista or Norton Removal Tool for Windows 98/Me. Boot.
  3. Install avast! (or repair the installation) and boot.

The Norton Removal Tool uninstalls all Norton 2008/2007/2006/2005/2004/2003 products and Norton 360 from your computer.

The reason for Tech’s advice above is that when Symantec/Norton programs are uninstalled, they leave behind too much junk that will interfere with any other av program that is installed afterwards.
