Im so sorry Im a bit of a caveman when it comes to computers, but since my last AVAST upgrade Im really struggling to get on line, my internet explorer just keeps crashing. I’ve read a few others are struggling too and when I disable AVAST I can get online no problem, Im worried though am I still secure online with Avast disabled?
If you have Avast Online Security plug-in enabled in IE, disable it and try again, (or preferably remove it.)

Assuming you can open IE click the gear top right, “Manage add-ons” right click it and choose disable.

Yes because your web shield will still pick up any problems, I don’t use IE but I still don’t have it enabled on any of my other browsers, there will be no problems.

Hello, Brian245. Two of the facilities lost by disabling the Avast Online Security add-on can be replaced with WOT (Web of Trust) and AdFender. I too, had the same problem with IE9. The Web Shield has stepped in to block iffy sites so feel secure with the disabling.
