i can't open Avast 4.7 Home

i installed Avast 4.7 Home Edition
VPS File : 12-Dec-07, 071212-0

i saw Avast icon in system tray and my desktop.

i did right click on avast icon in system tray.
and then click Start avast! antivirus.
i want to open avast. but it did not show.
is it affect of virus?

please help me

Hi

Do you, or did you have another anti virus installed? If so how did you remove it?

Can you open avast by navigating, in windows explorer to this folder

C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4

and double clicking either ashsimpl.exe or ashsimp2.exe
