Weeks ago I purchased the 4 Professional for one year. I received an email saying “Thank you for your order!” along with an Order Ref. # in my name. When I tried to enter the License Key, it told me that was an “Invalid License number.” I gave up. Today, I made attempts to start over. I was able to download (the Professional) from the link that had been sent in that previous email several weeks ago. I placed / saved the icon on my desktop. However, when I click on it to install it, it keeps telling me that, “There is already a copy, do I want to write over it?” I seem stuck in this viscious loop; the only certainty here is that Avast has my 30 bucks. If it makes any difference, I previously had no problems with the avast free version. It has been LESS than 30 days since I purchased the Pro version. Perhaps these problems seem simple to most of you, but a customer service phone number would save us ALL lots of time here. Not sure I can recommend this product at this point. Is there an avast for dummies??? help, somebody! Jeanette
What windows version do you have?? Is Avast installed already in your pc? Or try the uninstall tool http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility and make clean install
I have Windows XP. When I look in my programs, it DOES show the Avast; it’s a version 4.8. It does not say it is the Professional version that I paid for.
Do you need to install the key what was emailed when you paid. Right click in avast icon, about, then in license enter the number
