i cant update avast

i’am using avast pro 4
and anytime I attempt to ypdate my antivirus the message shows like this ???

  • you are not connected to the Internet.
  • your firewall does not allow the program “avast*.setup” to access the Internet; you can find details in help or read the FAQ section on avast! website.
  • your HTTP proxy settings are incorrect.
  • the server is inaccessible because of a network error or maintenance.

another thing is this :

Hi,

What is your operating system and firewall? If you are using a 3rd party firewall you will have to allow avast.setup internet access.

This does sound like firewall blocking as oldman suggests.

If your firewall does allow avast.setup, delete the entry for it and do a manual update, this will force the firewall to ask permission again.

Please, post the last 200-250 lines of avast log: C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\DATA\log\Setup.log
