Its set to automatically update my avast engine and virus definitions, but after some days a pop up appears saying “your engine and virus definitions are out of date” What the heck?? I tried updating them manually, but it says Host unreachable! I repaired my avast software, rebooted, nothing works!! Please help me!!!
Are you getting the streaming updates ?
Check the avastUI > Statistics > Component status > updates.
I have had 323 updates in the last 24 hours, yours may differ.
its 34 update last 24 hours. its not increasing anymore. 
They are certainly intermittent, but I feel that you should have well over 34 in 24 hours.
Ordinarily I would ask what firewall you use as it may be blocking - but the avast firewall shouldn’t be blocking itself. Unfortunately I don’t use the avast firewall so I can’t speak from personal experience.
If you have windows 7 or higher try enabling the windows firewall and disable the avast firewall and see if you can connect doing a manual virus definitions update.
Yeah, i tried what you said. That didn’t help either. What can i do now?
