I could not send any email thro gmail in my windows xp. It is not so in windows 7 system. i tried and got the error oops, there is error in sending the mail and error server no 007. I tried all sorts of things and could not fix the problem.
then i tried basic gmail version and it was freezing at sending… it continuing for ever.I think that it is something to do with the avast email scanner. But i found strange entries of avast.com in the lengthy messages with the gmail.
Then after a thought, i just disabled mail scanner for outgoing mails and voila, the mail was sent with enclosure without fail. Please see that what is the issue in enabling the outgoing emails got to do with windows xp system users.

But if i send email, thro gmail, iget mail stamped by avast in windows 7. Then what is the meaning of avast.com in the basic view of gmail

I just deselected that from components mail shield and then the mail was sent. But in my windows 7, i do not have any problem allowing it. So, is the query , whether enabling in windows xp, would not reproduce the problems.
