I always look in the Avast virus database and yesterday I had 222196 viruses,but today I had 222208. .

VPS shows 18 new virus,but I get only 12. Why? 222196+18=222214
222196+12=222208

I never give it a moments thought.

But it is entirely possible for signatures to also be removed.

Mine reports the same, but with generic and algorithmic signatures detecting multiple variants it could also be possible that something has been merged.
