what do i do?
thanks for the helpers
I don’t mean to be rude, but what the heck is that going to accomplish, might I ask?
You could right-click the file, and scan it, then do it again if you wish, but I think that avast doesn’t find anything the first time, the second time isn’t going to be any different…
When is it checking a file twice ?
Can you please try to explain what it is you are doing or want to do in a little more detail.
As far as I know on Access will scan the file as many times as you open it (so every time you open it, avast will scan). I’m not aware of a way around this without disabling on access. You can make an exception for this file so Avast will ignore it by:
-Right clicking on the little spinning ball with an a on it in the bottom right corner of the screen.
-Left clicking on Program settings.
-Selecting Exclusions from the list on the left
-And clicking on the Browse button that will open a window from which you can select the file for which you are making the exception.
This means that avast won’t scan that file when you open it (ever). There is no way that i know to make it scan the file just once and then never again (if this is what you meant).
Hope this helps.
crap, i totally mis-read the post. I thought he wanted to have the file scanned twice. lol. Sorry, nevermind!
Sorry scythe944 and David. I wrote the previous post prior to your replies. I think that’s what he meant.
Dinbrca, Please elaborate on what you meant.
Cheers
confused i meant it will scan it once and then never again?
i dont see why checking a file twice or more
i only want the scanner to check once
You got why it scans it, if it is opened multiple time it will be scanned, especially if it has been modified.

You don’t give any examples of the file name and location to see if that might help is find out why ?
If you change the default sensitivity to High in the Standard Shield, it will scan more files and some of these could be constantly updated (log files, etc.).
So what sensitivity is the Standard Shield set to ?
