When I select boot scan from the menu Avast reboots the computer and begins to scan. The first thing it does is display an alpha numeric string and says that there is an error (192)
Keyboard error. Avast did find win32 Meload (trj) and sent it to the chest. Why won;'t it do a boot scan? How can I fix it?

The error code you are receiving is possibly the result of the infection. What is the name of the file that the trojan infected?
Also, to ensure your system is clean, you might want to use the regimen created by Tech here. Just scroll down to post #4. However, I would recommend MBAM over the other two programs listed.
