I get this tagline added to all my messages

This doesn’t look right. Looks like a virus added tagline:

This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software.

I wouldn’t be unhappy with a simple “This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software” but a 200 character cryptic link like that worries me.

You didn’t say whether this is normal. Please confirm or deny.

To my EMails this is added:

Diese E-Mail wurde von Avast Antivirus-Software auf Viren geprüft.

That’s all …

Change the settings in the AvastUI > Components > Mail Shield > Customise > Behaviour - General and uncheck the ‘Insert note into’ options.

Change the settings in the AvastUI > Components > Mail Shield > Customise > Behaviour - General and uncheck the 'Insert note into' options.
I couldn't find an AvastUI. In settings I found the following:

I assume from you suggestion that I just just turn it off you don’t think the bizarre link is something harmful.

If you want/need a check, start a topic in V&W and post your logs there.

Okay, I found an AvastUI, but it doesn’t look like yours:

You have to follow the path I gave from first opening the AvastUI (user interface) at the bottom is the settings option.

Change the settings in the AvastUI > Components > Mail Shield > Customise > Behaviour - General and uncheck the ‘Insert note into’ options.

Or to be clearer AvastUI > Settings > Components > Mail Shield > Customise > Behaviour - General and uncheck the ‘Insert note into’ options.
