Hi,

Sounds more like Hardware errors…

???

adkel

can u tell me the name of this XXXX virus?

Moderator warning: don’t do that again! >:(

mantra,

I hate to be a stick in the mud…
but please watch the adjectives.

Keep the language clean.

Thank you.

Hi Guys

It was that swen virus, and i had a antivirus program, but it deactived it and yes i download the removal tool, but i think it did so much damage there wasnt much i could do, and my daughter was the one who opened not me and she didnt know any better, well its in the shop getting fixed now so heres hoping it is ok

Hi,

even after a botched-up deletion/disinfection attempt of SWEN,
any PC-wise guy should be able to fix the PC without any data loss …
(numerous posts on procedures here in the BBS)

So keep your hopes up…

Ok…Ok…

Leave adkel alone. I know how it feels to have a messed up computer and no where to turn.

IN his (or her) case, the easiest thing to do is to take it to someone who has the knowledge, skill and patience to put things right in the shortest amount of time.

Sometimes this IS the best thing to do.

I hope ADKEL, that you are using AVAST now and it won’t happen again.

We are here to help you in any way possible. Too bad we were unable to prevent the damage, but once the swen is opened, it starts to do its’ thing.

You are correct, your daughter did not know any better, but please try to educate her if she has internet access so as not to download a virus, or open email containing one.

I would advise that should she see, or suspect a problem, to let you know, and you can ask one of us for help.

If AVAST identifies a virus, you can go to any of these sites for help:
www.symantec.com
www.kaspersky.com (also has a great online scanner)
www.trendmicro.com (free online virus scanner)
of course!! www.alwil.com
www.cai.com
www.mcaffee.com
www.virusbulletin.com
www.virusportal.com

BETTER TO SUSPEND YOUR INTERNET ACTIVITY WHEN IN DOUBT, THEN TO CONTINUE AND END UP WITH A TRAJEDY!

Take care…and remember we are all here to help.

Long Live Anti-virus software…
and may AVAST always be the KING!!!

;D
