i hav a problem in updating avast

i didnt turn on my laptop for about 15 days.now when i turned on,i found that theres a problem in updating avast 4.8 home edition.
every thing was perfect before.
wen i click update after a few seconds, theres an error message stating “other http error(403).while trying 209.62.14.114:80//iavs4x/prod-av_pro.vpu.”

please give a solution

A “403” error message usually seems to mean access denied; forbidden.
Are you using Avast from an admin account?
Can you connect to the net with other applications?
Have you tried letting Avast auto-update (leave the computer on and connected for a day.)
Please post the VPS version currently indicated. (Right click the tray icon, select "about Avast’', then VPS. Also the program version, build, please.)
Have you updated your Windows in the last 15 days?
Check also your system time and date is correctly synched.

Please don’t post multiple topics for the same problem, it just duplicates the effort of those trying to help and causes confusion as we don’t know what advice/suggestion is given in the two topics.

You are using an out of date version of Avast. The current version is 4.8.1368.
Please manually update the program, which might take a few minutes, reboot when prompted, and then everything should be normal.
Check in program settings>updating, that one of the upper two selections is selected, as displayed in the picture, where the mouse cursor is positioned.
Any problems updating the program, just ask.
