I have a virus :(

All right, yesterday midday avast started reporting a virus every 30 min to an hour. I haven’t really attempted to time the span between warnings. But anyways a patern has sorta emerged and it will report this virus- Win32:Trojanao-CL [Trj]. Unfortunately for me, I don’t have any experiece really with viruses. Every attempt I have made to purge it from my computer has failed. I tried to do some research and found out about hijackthis or whatever so I’ll post what that says now.

Anyways, after it detects that it usually detects something trying to connect to the internet and download more, but stops it. Can anyone help me please? Its getting angering to have this pop up in the most inoportune moments while I’m playing WC3 and WoW :stuck_out_tongue:

I also should note, any attempt to get onto internet explorer leads me to this site. http://www.systemuptodate.com/ Its pretty much trying to sell me fixes to get rid of the virus, but i’m pretty sure its all a scam. n e ways, any help you can give will be appreciated.

In the earlier post when i say it says its downloading something, it says the file name is http://85.255.113.214/1/gdnU[broken]S2218.exe\[Yoda]

Malware name: Win32:Trojano-3295 [Trj]

Malware type: Trojan Horse

VPS version: 0618-3, 05/05/2006

Thanks in advance

Bear with us checking now. You have malware on your system looking now

Has Ewido found anything, and do you have spybot, adaware or defender on your system

Here is a description o dcomcfg.exe http://fileinfo.prevx.com/QQ74e318600724-DCOM12640207/DCOMCFG.EXE.html looking for the removal tool. Spyware falcon

Hi slyhamster,

As our friend essexboy says, you have malware on your comp and a Smitfraud infection as well:

Please download SmitfraudFix from: http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.zip
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press “Enter”; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Also consider the instruction from essexboy.

polonus

Damn Polonus you’re fast I only just found the link, maybe I should bookmark it

Hi essexboy,

This is fun, doing it together. Stab it now. I leave it to you now.

Damian

Matey is offline at the moment so I’ll get the package together for him to read all in one go…

First this link will give you a removal tool and a step by step guide to get rid of the pest http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-spyfalcon.html?gclid=CI3_-aTR5IQCFSW9Pgodn0kokQ

Smitfraud removal link here http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=75890 last post has the removal programme and instructions

This one has a combined removal tool with instructions , courtesy of my Netherlander friend
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix_En.php

Hi essexboy,

Copied that. All by the book. Bookmark this one as well, nice instruction there at:
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix_En.php

Now you have beaten me to it. That means we are at the ball.

A lot of these hijackers here lately.

Your co-malware fighter,

polonus

PS Slyhamster Remove this directlink to TrojanDownloader 3080 please. Curious people may click malware that way.
Nice to run in this case is toolbar cop from here:
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/toolbarcop.htm (tutorial there).

D.

hey guys, just now say your reply, unfortunately i have to go to work now, so i can’t do anything you recommended, but when i get home tonight i will try. how late are there people monitoring this forum who can helP?

Hi slyhamster,

It is just before midnight here, and in essexboys’case just an hour earlier (GMT). So we will answer your next posting when we have our eyes on it. But the instruction is such that you’re just a few clicks from a clean machine. Anyway hang in…we will get you there.

polonus

How many time zones are there ? We are worldwide so generally there is someone here. Oh by the way welcome to our world
