I have HTML:Script-inf

Not sure if I am using this forum right, but I have a major problem.
I have gone to and used ABC7 news website for three or four years without a problem.
Last night for some reason my AVAST came up and blocked it. I was watching their Wave Cam from Lauguna Beach…
Here is what it said…

URL
hxxp://abc7.com/live/|{gzip}

Infection
HTML:Script-inf

I’ve never had a problem like this before. Can someone tell me how to get rid of it please??

do you own the website?

only detected by avast

if you think avast detection is wrong, report it here http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php

no this is our local news website.

if detection is correct, then only the website owner can remove the malicious code

Oh boy…this is going to be a toughy since I cannot even access the website right now to inform them of the problem. Maybe a phone call. Thanks.

you can report it to avast lab using the link i gave above … then they can check if it is correct
you may give a link to this topic in case they want to reply here

Thank you. I will do that. I tried for a hour to get info to contact ABC7 Website to no avail.

Well I’ve tried everything I can think of. I ran Malwarebytes and found TONS or the PUP.optional bugs… white horse, price somethint or other…but quarrantined them, deleted and the turned around and they showed up again.
Did a FULL AVAST scan and it showed nothing.
But try as I may, I cannot access that sight ABC7 Los Angeles News, without Avast bringing up this HTML:Script-inf.
No word back from AVAST…sigh.

avast PUP scan is default off, except for in boot scan

follow instructions https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=53253.0
scroll down to Farbar Recovery scan tool … and attach the logs

Appreciate rejoicingmom posting this as just a problem in the last couple days after many years of ABC7 links not presenting an issue. And, in this instance, avast is popping up the warning message while showing the allegedly offending page. Seem to recall, in the past, the warning appeared but not the page it was blocking (I could be wrong, memory not as good as it used to be). No issues going directly to the ABC7 site…just links w/in their FB and Twitter posts that I’ve encountered. (Replied to one of their tweets with an FYI regarding the issue.)

I’ve also run MalwareBytes and avast scans and found nothing.

I can go to their site but the wave cam is down and I watch the earthquake cam daily and now won’t be able. The chat is also disabled.

rejoicingmom…yes, I can access site but opening certain links results in a warning. I’ve tweeted them twice with the different warning messages but haven’t received a reply. Sure would be nice to know what changed a couple days ago after easy access for soooo long.

What area do you live in? We are in Los Angeles and I access the Website daily but can no longer see any live cams or link onto any news articles. I really think ABC is having problems if you are having some issues too.
I’ve run a full scan and show no viruses. Wish AVAST WOULD RESPOND TO US!!!

I’m also in LA. Baffling if this is false positive and I’m not savvy enough to determine how to proceed. Would appear it’s tied to Avast because comments to their tweets and FB posts by so many others, with no mention of issues accessing or with warnings, I’m assuming those followers use other AV options which aren’t problematic. Confusing!

ETA: just saw the other thread about FP involving ABC6 and WABC. Hopefully Avast will respond to the reports which’ve been sent.

I disabled the web shield long enough to bring up the site with the earthquake cam, and it came up fine. Once I had it on I went back and enabled the web shield. It left the cam going so I figure it is safe.

Okay something new just came up… maybe it will help lead to the problem.

So you are having trouble with ABC7? It is so frustrating and I want a answer from Avast or ABC so we can get this resolved.

in commoner’s language please…sigh.

UPDATE!!!
I tried a SYSTEM RESTORE on my laptop ( virus warning has appeared on both laptop and desktop)…and now the website works without the warning for URL:Mal or HTML:Script-inf !
