I have three questions. Avast version, setup duration, background operation

Hello;
I have a mac pro 13 and i downloaded mac installer which is 8.9MB(avast_free_mac_security_online.dmg) from avast.com
I run installer. When it reached “downloading virus definition” screen then it took more than one hour to finish it. Is it normal?

Second question is; why the program title is “Avast mac security 2015” ? What happened to 2016?

Third question is; Do i need to run avast every time when i open my computer or it runs automatically? I cant see avast when i search it in activity monitor. If i run it then i can see it in list

The virus definitions have ~100MB and are downloaded from Akamai servers, that should be pretty fast all around the world. If the download took one hour, than there was something really wrong - on all today’s “sane” network connections, it should take at least several minutes.
