I have to start Avast manually

Yesterday Avast was fine, today I have to start Avast manually after I turn on the computer. The box to show the Avast icon in the system tray is checked but it doesn’t show up there until I go into programs and start Avast. So, I don’t think it is starting but how do I tell if the icon isn’t visible? I opened Task Manager and the only process running that I could attribute to Avast was AvastSvc.exe. When I manually started Avast and then looked in Task Manager I saw AvastUI.exe in addition to AvastSvc.exe. Anyone have any thoughts?
