I check windows have sound enable … can hear windows bootup etc …
I also check sound in Avast enable …also enable or disable the voice oversound…
Still silent…

Do you have “silent/gaming mode” turned on? ???
If you look in the Gui summary make sure silent/gaming mode is not turned on…AS WELL as in the settings section under Silent/Gaming Mode make sure you do not have the check box checked.

Click on the sound file at the Programdata --Avast folder …1033 … all can hear…
When AV DB updatedd…slient … only have the popup …
Strange problem…! Never heard of anything similar…

Try “repair” of Avast. (control panel - add remove programs - Avast change/remove - scroll down to repair)
does firewall rule exclude about your sound driver…check firewall rules

After spend a day … I decided to reformat the whole com … in clean OS… and upon install Avast …it work .
Donno why the sound dead …
I guess… reinstall windows …is the way …
before format try to repair avast & uninstall and reinstall your sound driver…maybe work
