I just want to ask if this is False Positive. Thanks in advance :D

I did a full scan on my pc using Avast home free edition, it says that it found a virus in C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Shared\QBackup{00E04411-30E5-4190-9F76-A2C81098E6A7}.qbi. I just got this computer last week. I have norton internet security 2007 installed in my pc.

Thanks in advance

I don’t use norton (hate their products) but I’m pretty sure that “internet security 2007” is a type of antivirus. I may be wrong! but if not, only use ONE anti-virus program at a time. Having two installed really screws things up.

Upload the file to virustotal.com and see what it says. Then:

Tell Avast to quarantine the item and zip and password protect the file, then email to virus AT avast DOT com with “virus” in the subject and the password to the zip file in the body of the message.

You need it uninstall Norton.

Download and run the Norton Removal Tool.

So it is not a virus?

We didn’t say it wasn’t. If avast is saying that it has a problem with the file, then there is a reason.

By uploading the file to http://www.virustotal.com it will show you how many A/V programs list it as a Virus.

If there are a bunch that say that it is, then I’d quarantine the file (because most likely, yes, it’s a virus).

Again, as I stated before, and as JTaylor83 has said, you should only have 1 A/V program installed at a time though.

If no other A/V programs see it as a virus, and only Avast does (look at the virustotal.com results) then send it to Avast so they can update their detections.

ok thanks again

Absolutely, and welcome to the forums!
