I did a full scan on my pc using Avast home free edition, it says that it found a virus in C:\ProgramData\Symantec\Shared\QBackup{00E04411-30E5-4190-9F76-A2C81098E6A7}.qbi. I just got this computer last week. I have norton internet security 2007 installed in my pc.
I donāt use norton (hate their products) but Iām pretty sure that āinternet security 2007ā is a type of antivirus. I may be wrong! but if not, only use ONE anti-virus program at a time. Having two installed really screws things up.
Upload the file to virustotal.com and see what it says. Then:
Tell Avast to quarantine the item and zip and password protect the file, then email to virus AT avast DOT com with āvirusā in the subject and the password to the zip file in the body of the message.
We didnāt say it wasnāt. If avast is saying that it has a problem with the file, then there is a reason.
By uploading the file to http://www.virustotal.com it will show you how many A/V programs list it as a Virus.
If there are a bunch that say that it is, then Iād quarantine the file (because most likely, yes, itās a virus).
Again, as I stated before, and as JTaylor83 has said, you should only have 1 A/V program installed at a time though.
If no other A/V programs see it as a virus, and only Avast does (look at the virustotal.com results) then send it to Avast so they can update their detections.
