I keep getting a mesage that my AVAST is outdated?

???[b]The “windows security center” keeps popping up and telling me that my avast 4.7.1091 [VPS 071127-0] is outdated. Just today I got a new license key since it was asking for me to renew, I did it and re-started the computer and I still get the same message. Sorry to ask this (I know probably a stupid question), but what does VPS stand for? It keeps saying that it’s outdated?

yes everything is correct…as a matter of fact AVAST had been working incredibly well up 'til this, I don’t get it… ??? I was also running “windows defender” and I am also having problems with that as it can’t download new updates. But I checked my AVAST and everything is up to date.
