i need help about can clean my computer of this virus, i’ve to delete some excel and word docs. because the avast home edition can’t repair it,seems that the viruse put the exe name at the end of the word doc for example mynotes.doc.exe

can somebody helpme?

i need to know how i get this viruses and how it works

What Win do you have ?

at first guess, I’d say that you can just delete the infected files (they probably contain only pure virus-code)

thank for your answer,the path was c:\mydocuments
and infect some documents of word and another of excel but i never try to open anyone because the antivirus detect the infected files and delete them

the extension was for example tests.xls.exe

i’m using win98 se

is your PC clean now ?
It looks like the Worm overwrites/destroys the files e.g. DOC & XLS and appends exe with it:
