I screwwwwwwed up avast!

avast! home edition v4.5.549 installed on Windows XP home.

Uninstalled and then reinstalled avast and could not get “On Acess” GUI to open after clicking icon in sytem tray.

Error reads:

“The AAVM subsystem detected a RPC error. The operation could not be completed.”

Been working on this puter all day and I’m tired.

Suggestions appreciated.

I finally got it working.

I quit for the day. I’m past tired!

avast! 4.6.691 is out for quite some time, just FYI. It would be much better if you update your antivirus ASAP.

Also, please resize your avatar, it’s a way too big. For further info, read forum policy please.

I’m glad you’ve got it working. RPC error solutions are explained in forum, so I believe you already found a solution somewhere in those posts.

Take care !

Must have missed the update. Will do it right away.

Sorry, I have more than one size in the folder I made for my avatars and pointed to the wrong one.

Yea! I simply restarted my puter and then it corrected itself.

No problems, I’m really happy you solved it finally. So now you just became another happy avast! user ;D

Regarding your avatar, it’s not that big deal, it’s just… some people still use low resolutions, and on their screens, forum can look a little bit weird when avatar is too wide… all posts will be shifted to the right and it’s difficult to follow those replies…

Anyway, right now it’s soooo small, and you lost all those nice details. If you want, feel free to post that (big) picture again and I’ll properly resize it for you and make a nice 100x100 pixels avatar.

Regards !
Sasha

Do you do animated avatars? I tried to resize some of my moving avatars, and now the objects that aren’t supposed to move shift around. They aren’t really avatars but were uncopywrited cartoons I had emailed to me a long time ago.

I used two free programs in order to edit them. I used “GifSplitter” to break them down into individual frames, and then reanimated them with “UnFREEz”.

I was just playing around with the concept and never really persued it further.
