I don’t mean avatar flags, I mean a flag other than the avatar. Am I mistaken in thinking we had flags showing?
I searched for topics and found this from 2008, but I have been here since then and I thought I saw flags.

I miss them too, as it gives an idea of the time zone that the member is in when trying to help.
That’s an excellent point, DavidR. That certainly adds a dimension other than the aesthetic.
Anyway, I was correct about what I thought I remembered. At my age one sort of wonders about the little grey cells.
Okay, so a forum update seems to have removed the flags. Might that mean it was sort of unintentional? They will be back?

Yes it struck me also. Remember also that there was a case where an American showed the Irish colours, which according to me is not very patriotic. Remember that I asked bob3160 about that incident? In my case I would show the Dutch flag, red-white and blue,

@polonus the poster you are referring to had a UK time zone.

Right he was in the GMT time-zone, but his location was in the States, and he flew the Irish flag,

OT but how could his location be the US and time stamp be the UK? ???
Easy, not having set the time zone in the profile would take the forum default time (UTC).
The IP is going to be the more likely to be accurate (unless using anonymous proxy) as the time displayed in the forum can be manually set by the user.

Iv removed several uneccesary posts from this thread due to stearing so far off topic.

As i mentioned in the pm to yourself the thread had gone way off topic and the issues you were wanting to discuss need to be brought up personally between avast and yourself as this thread would have soon degenerated into another 10 page discussion on security and this is not needed again, especially in a topic that is about flags.
And as I responded in the PM, you have been extremely disrespectful and have been reported to the admin staff and this will progress as outlined in that report to the admin staff.

There was no disrespect and i informed you of the proceeding’s, there is no problem with you contacting avast about your issues or questions but that topic as i said would have just inspired the trolls for a hayday and it also had nothing to do with the subject matter of the thread which was to do with flags.
I am assuming from your statements here and your statements in your PM that nobody is allowed to start a thread that asks questions about the Avast Privacy Policy on this forum. Is that assumption correct?
As I just wrote just now in a PM in response to another member, I cannot believe how disrespectful that was to me and how sad I feel right now. I never dreamed in a month of Sundays something like that kind of censorship would take place on this foum.

You can ask about the privacy policy by all means as i didn’t mind answering your questions about it but the topic was just vearing more and more towards the said subject matter and not to do with the thread topic as i mentioned and explained to you in the pm and i felt through better jugment that you could have your questions better answered by avast directly and without this thread becoming a haven for the trolls, again i stipulate that it was nothing personal against yourself.

Help others and police Spam and remove whenever possible.
