I have no clue where this “chest” lives on my laptop.
you have to open your Avast virus program… ???
And that seems that obvious to you?
Stevew, right click the avast icon in the system tray and select “Start Avast! Antivirus”. Once the memory scan is done and avast! antivirus finally pops up, click the “virus chest” button (the red circle). Once there, simply select the file you want to delete and press delete.
And that seems that obvious to you?well...maybe it is not......sorry..shame on me I would guess that if you have a virus program you would have opend it and done a scan
Not quite so simple as we don’t know what version of avast the original poster is using (4.8 or 5.0) as there are different ways of accessing the chest.
@ stevew
What version of avast are you using ?
What are these files and why do you want to delete them ?
There is no rush to delete anything from the chest, a protected area where it can do no harm. Anything that you send to the chest you should leave there for a few weeks. If after that time you have suffered no adverse effects from moving these to the chest, scan them again (inside the chest) and if they are still detected as viruses, delete them (will tell you how when we know which avast version you are using).
