I Wonder If This Will Work With OTL To Help Track Down Malware?

Malware Search 0.9.4

This is a (Firefox) plugin that I developed for use while researching HijackThis logs that are posted on the web. Just highlight a word and then use the right click context menu to search several malware databases and the results will open in a new tab.

Usage: Highlight some text (filename, dll, etc), right click and select “Malware Search” from the popup menu, find the database you wish to search, and then left click on that menu entry. A new tab will appear with the results. You can use the options menu to select which databases appear on the menu.

Does anyone know?

Thanks

Just try it and you’ll see, if it works.

Yep has been around for a while, and is used by a lot of helpers on the malware forums

Hi Nesivos & Asyn,

I have it inside the Mozilla browser and it is a nice add-on for reconnaissance.
The first time this add-on was pointed out to me, was by our mutual forum friend, DavidR, here, then I installed it.
But the use in combination with HJT (OTL replaced HJT) is a bit outdated.
The use of Freefixer and more recently ComboScript has replaced the use of HJT,
but it could still be supportive for the analyst.

Passive Recon is another powerful add-on for reconnaisance purposes:

You can use that in combination with other online scanners and sources,
