I have an IadHide.dll file in the %temp% folder. Is this part of “Avast Home Edition 4.8”?
I have done a “Through Scan” and have no infections. Also did a scan with "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. No infections.
Thanking you ahead in this matter,

IAdHide.dll belongs to BackWeb. It is installed with the software for e.g. Logitech products. It checks for software upgrades from Logitech.
It’s present under Software => Logitech Desktop Manager, where it can be uninstalled.
Whilst this file name might be associated with BackWeb and Logitech products, I would say it is strange for it to be in the Temp folder and not in the Program Files or system/system32 folder.
Since it is in a Temp folder I would just clear you temp folder.
Each time I try to delete the file out of the temp folder I keep getting the file is "Write Protected or used by another program. It will not delete.
What O/S are you using? If Vista, you might need to use the “Unlocker” program http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ to delete it.
If not, maybe Avast has this file protected by some means? Can anyone else confirm that?
I mean, if it’s in the quarantine, you shouldn’t be able to delete the file through windows explorer, you’d have to open up the avast quarantine and delete it from there I guess.
This just makes me more suspicious a write protected file in Temp. However, deletion isn’t technically writing but Unlocker should be able to do it - Or MoveOnBoot http://www.download.com/EMCO-MoveOnBoot/3000-2094_4-10397293.html.
Emptying the Temp folder using another tool CCleaner is another useful tool - CCleaner - Temp File Cleaner, etc. or ClearProg - Temp File Cleaner
Sometimes, only using Unlocker (http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/) or KillBox (http://killbox.net/) or MoveOnBoot (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/moveonboot.html) or Delete FXP (http://www.jrtwine.com/) you can delete files.
Sorry I did not get back to you on this before now. It as late last night and was time for bed. I 'm running XP Home.
