ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll

I use a program that contains ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll

I’ve had the program for a while with no problems. But now Avast is saying that ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll is a virus.

I think it is actually a legitamate library that a virus happens to use, but I want to be sure. Does anyone know anything about this file?

I don’t think Avast should completely blacklist this file because it is used by a cproc.exe virus.

If this file is in fact legit, how can I stop Avast from crapping the program evertime I try to use it now?

Hi x87bliss. Welcome to the forum.

Try uploading a sample of the file to Virus Total to see if any other antivirus programs detect anything

http://www.virustotal.com/en/indexf.html

Let us know the results in your next post, as well as the name of the the malware and the exact file path.

I assume I just copy the link? Or must I copy and paste the table?

Avast is the only thing that things it’s something.

C:\Program Files\SimPE\ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll

Good afternoon

I work for the Support team of a software company and today we have received some users that have reported an issue with the file ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib.dll, which we include with our software.

I have also run the VirusTotal scan and here are the results table. It appears only Avast are flagging up the problem. Can this be looked into please?
