I tried to send this privately by email but received an email back stating that help is provided by your website or phone:

All I find here is your forum.
So here is a near complete copy of my email:
Dear Nexway and Avast,
As a Merchant Services Provider of 15 Years (we are an ISO of Wells Fargo Bank, MetaBank and First Data) I fully understand the rules of Credit Card Processing and your Actions are not permitted.
You may wish to review the rules located at the MasterCard Website. The following is an excerpt from the Merchant Services Manual.
The Manual can be found here: http://www.mastercard.com/us/merchant/pdf/BM-Entire_Manual_public.pdf
Since the manual is rather large I have taken the liberty of pasting the relevant section below:
5.8.4 Additional Cardholder Identification
A merchant must not refuse to complete a MasterCard card transaction solely because a cardholder who has complied with the conditions for presentment of a card at the POI [point of interaction] refuses to provide additional identification information, except as specifically permitted or required by the Standards. A merchant may require additional identification from the cardholder if the information is required to complete the transaction, such as for shipping purposes. A merchant in a country or region that supports use of the MasterCard Address Verification Service (AVS) may require the cardholder’s ZIP or postal code to complete a cardholder-activated terminal (CAT) transaction, or the cardholder’s address and ZIP or postal code to complete a mail order, phone order, or e-commerce transaction.
— End of Excerpt—
You have all the information you need. Seeing how you have already completed the charge of my card, as evidenced below I will consider this transaction complete and will expect to see my Avast License key with your next email.
{Screenshot posted here orignally of my online charge record}
This card is a Pre-Paid Mastercard and does not support Pre-Authorizations. Therefore it requires the “Authorize-Capture” method to charge. The above transaction shows as “Completed” It is NOT just an authorization.
Lastly, if you insist upon this ID Requirement I will file a complaint with Mastercard regarding your willful refusal to accept my properly tendered Mastercard.
You can find this complaint form here: http://www.mastercard.us/support/merchant-violations.html
What you are doing has a check-box specifically for this Merchant Violation. If I have to go this route, enjoy the assessments (Fines) from Mastercard.
One of two things are GOING to happen from this point forward.
- You will send my Avast License Key to me or;
- You will Refund my $19.99 back to my card
This is the bottom line. You will NOT be getting my Drivers License, Passport or other any other Identification. You already have all that is required.
Sincerely,
Darrel Carpenter, President
