IE 10 Slowness - what worked for me

I was experiencing what seemed like hangs in IE10 for the last day or so. The program was actually running extremely slow.

My system: Lenovo Y510P with i7 processor and 16GB RAM, 240GB SSD with Win 8, avast! 2014

Problem was with IE add-ons. Specifically I found four avast! add-on files enabled. Two were 32-bit and two were 64-bit. My system is 64-bit so I disabled the two 32-bit files and everything went back to its normal, speedy state.

Same here.
Dell laptop with SSD.
Every action took really slow, like couple of minutes until new page opens or reacts on click, even google home page.
Disabled Avast add-ons and it started to work fast again.
