Apologies if this has been raised or asked before on the forum, but I have done a couple of searches and found nothing…
I am running Windows 8.1 with IE11 and Avast 2014.9.0.2018. I also have the Avast add-in installed in IE11 and Firefox.
I’ve found that when I do a search on Google and try to open one of the results in a new tab within IE11, the page fails to load (Example attached). If I disable the Avast add-in and restart IE it works perfectly.
I’ve not come across this issue on any other site though and strangely enough the add-in doesn’t seem to have this effect on Firefox at all…
Any ideas - could it be an isolated issue with Avast, IE11 and Google in particular?
You can disable the AOS in IE11. Just click on add on’s and you should see it. BTW…Department Of Homeland Security is advising people not to use any version of IE right now.
I have tried disabling AOS in IE11 already and it does resolve the issue, but I was more curious as to why it causes the issue and to see if anyone else encountered it.
If it is a bug, then it may be that others have come across it as well…
